    Cawley Nea/TBWA
  • Cawley Nea/TBWA approached me with a very definite concept for an eye catching 6-sheet/press campaign to promote the Champions League final. They commissioned me to illustrate the poster in a style similar to the iconic 'Roy of the Rovers' comic books of the 1970's and 80's.
    The beauty of these comics now, is how they have aged and hold a sense of nostalgia and I suggested pushing the artwork to the point of imitating a cheap and faded print run together with lived in paper folds.
    I think the end result has the characteristics of all those early covers
